Heaven

In A Course in Miracles (ACIM), Heaven is described as a state of being rather than a physical place. It is the experience of perfect peace, love, and unity that is our natural state of being, and which can be accessed through the practice of forgiveness and the release of our attachment to the illusions of the world.

According to ACIM, Heaven is not a reward that is given to us after we die, but rather a state of consciousness that we can experience in the present moment. It is the recognition of our oneness with God and all of creation, and the release of the beliefs and illusions that keep us separate from this truth.

Heaven is seen as a state of perfect happiness and fulfillment, where there is no conflict, suffering, or fear. In this state, we experience ourselves as part of a loving and harmonious whole, and we recognize that everything is interconnected and interdependent.

In ACIM, the path to Heaven involves the undoing of the ego’s illusions and the cultivation of a deep and abiding sense of peace and love. It is a journey of self-discovery and awakening, where we learn to recognize and release the beliefs that keep us from experiencing our true nature as the Son of God.

The Workbook for Students contains several lessons that help to explain and understand this concept of Heaven:

These lessons focus on various aspects of the understanding of Heaven according to ACIM’s teachings, such as the omnipresence of God, the relationship between God and the self, and the decision to choose Heaven (the state of perfect peace and oneness) instead of the ego’s illusions.
